Today and tomorrow sees the European Identity and Cloud Conference take place at the Dolce Ballhausforum Unterschleissheim in Munich, Germany. The European Identity and Cloud Conference is the world’s leading event that focuses on cloud security, identity and access management, compliance, governance and risk management. It is the eleventh such conference and like in previous years it will offer delegates a mix of lively discussions, talks and best practice demonstrations from some of the world’s leading authorities on online security and risk management. 700 people are expected to take part in the event from a variety of leading vendors, analysts, end users and industry visionaries. The new European General Data Protection Regulations will be a big theme in many of the talks that will take place over the two days. Amongst the world’s leading speakers, there will be:

Jonathan Sander, STEALTHbits’ Chief Technology Officer who will be participating in the session Cloud Access Security Brokers: Why You Need One to Ensure GPDR Compliance. Speaking about his participation, Jonathan Sander said:

“We are thrilled to partake in the KuppingerCole European Identity & Cloud Conference this year with EU GDPR being a prolific theme. Privacy by design and by default should be what every organization strives for and a large part of that is having an effective Data Access Governance program in place to achieve EU GDPR compliance.”

CTO Jason Macy of Forum Systems Inc will lead a workshop on achieving compliance with PSD2, Open Banking Standards and the European Union’s General Data Protections Regulations. Talking about his worship, Jason Macy said:

“A revolution is occurring in European banking. While PSD2 and Open Banking will simplify interoperability, make payments safer and more secure, and enhance consumer protection, challenges and questions remain as enterprises race against the clock to achieve compliance. Because the information in API-based exchanges needs to be authenticated, vetted and compliance-checked, naturally, an effective API security strategy is fundamental to ensuring secure cross-border information sharing and communication.”

Gary Gebel, the vice president of business development at Axiomatics, will speak at two sessions at the KuppingerCole European Identity and Cloud Conference 2017. Firstly he will be part of the analyst panel that will also include Dan Blum, senior analyst at KuppingerCole, Martin Kuppinger, principal analyst at KuppingerCole, Eve Maler, vice president innovation and emerging technology at ForgeRock and  Ian Glazer, senior director of identity at Salesforce. He will then host a session that will focus on a range of current issues including GDPR. This is titled “Next Generation Identity Based Security – on-Site and in the Cloud – II”. Talking about the sessions, Gary Gebel said:

“EIC brings together an array of experts and thought leaders in security from across the globe to explore issues of the day for the digital identity community. We are looking forward to sharing our thoughts on how organizations can address complex authorization needs, and how they can more efficiently and effectively manage access to critical assets.”
